The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania and Polirom Printing House published the second edition of the volume A history of the Romanian Communism. The textbook includes as authors: Mihai Stamatescu, Raluca Grosescu, Dorin Dobrincu, Andrei Muraru, Liviu Plesa and Sorin Andreescu.
During the 2008-2009 school year, over 2000 students from 167 schools opted for the pilot course named A history of the Romanian Communism. Following the 2009-2010 school year, IICCR estimates that more than 8000 students will opt for this course and will use the afferent textbook. In 2008, more than 100 teachers participated to the trainings organized by IICCR in Bucharest, Constanta and Timisoara, having as scope their specialization in the didactics of communism. In 2009 other 200 teachers will be instructed according to this program of training.

The event took place on Wednesday, September 10 at 5.30 PM, at Green Hours (Calea Victoriei 120), Bucharest. Lucia Hossu Longin-Secretary General within the IICCR, Stejărel Olaru-Director General within the IICCR, Daniela Zaharia – Scientific Secretary within the Faculty of History, University of Bucharest, His Excelency, Mr. Jaap L. Werner – The Ambassador of the Netherlands in Bucharest, Dr. Holger Dix – Director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Bucharest, Dr. Dorin Dobrincu – Coordinator of the Commission for the Analysis of Communist Dictatorship in Romania, Cristian Adomniţei, Minister of Education, Research and Youth, Victor Rebengiuc- actor, Liviu Mihaiu-journalist and Raluca Grosescu-IICCR researcher spoke in the opening of the event.
