The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania (IICCR) and the Romanian Institute for Recent History (IRIR) are placing their collection of books, comprising approximately 2, 000 volumes and specialized magazines, as well as their Romanian and foreign publications, to the disposal of all researchers and readers interested in history. The available volumes cover various thematic areas, such as the history of ideas, theories and methods within the study of history, universal history, the history of Central and Eastern Europe, the history of the Romanian people (the modern and contemporary periods), biographies, memoirs, diaries and letters. The collection of available publications also includes documents of the Municipal Committee of the Romanian Communist Party's (PCR) Branch - Braşov, the "Ghiţă Ionescu" archive and the Romanian exile press.

The books, the magazines and the other documents within the IICCR-IRIR library cannot be loaned. They can be read or referred to at the Institute's premises only. Nevertheless, readers may photocopy the materials they are interested in, within reasonable limits.

The library's opening hours are 9.30 - 16.30 from Monday to Thursday and 9.30 - 14.00 on Friday.
